Use / Application

New generation superplasticiser for premixed and precast concrete.

Ingredients

Polycarboxylate solution, Non-hazardous ingredients

Appearance: Clear amber liquid

Relative Density: N/A

pH: > 7

Hazard Identification

Flammability: Non-flammable

Inhalation: Not applicable

Ingestion: No adverse effects expected, however larger amounts may cause nausea, diarrhea and vomiting.

Skin Contact: Non-irritant

Eye Contact: Non-irritant

First Aid Measures

Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. Lay patient down  and rest. Ingestion Do NOT induce vomiting. Wash mouth  with water and seek medical attention.

Skin Contact: Wash contacted area thoroughly with  soap and plenty of water. Seek medical attention in event of irritation.

Eye Contact: While holding eyes open, gently flood  with plenty of fresh water for 15 minutes. If irritation persists or recurs seek medical attention. Skilled personnel should only undertake removal of contact lenses after an  eye injury.

Firefighting Measures

Foam, CO2 and Dry Chemical. Hazards from combustion products: Oxides of carbon and nitrogen.

Accidental Release Measures

Caution slippery when spilled. Stop leak if possible without risk. Spills should be contained by absorbing with dry inert filler (vermiculite, sand or soil), which can then be shoveled into appropriately labelled drums for disposal. Carefully dilute with water (fine spray or fog). Wash down area with excess water into a containment area or contain with inert filler for disposal. Spills in a contained area such as a bund can be removed by a commercial bulk liquid waste disposal organisation.

Environmental precautions: Do not discharge into sewers or waterways.

Handling & Storage

Store in a cool dry area. Temperature conditions: 5 to 35°C Store undercover and away from frost. Storage incompatibilities: Strong oxidising agents, acids and alkalis.  Avoid contact with metal (e.g. iron).

Toxicological Information

No adverse effects expected, however larger amounts may cause nausea, diarrhea and vomiting. There have been no reports in the literature of health effects in workers arising from long term exposure to this material and no comprehensive human studies have been conducted.
